Matthews wins 'Classic' Stage 3

Barbados' Darren Matthews won the third stage of the Tobago Cycling Classic in the Sister Isle yesterday to retain the overall lead in Division One of the four-stage event, as the riders head into today's final race.
Matthews finished ahead of Christian Varley of Great Britain, Jaime Ramirez of Columbia and Christopher Jennings of South Africa who were second, third and fourth respectively. arloe Rodman from Jamaica was fifth in the division.
The race was a 50-lap around the 1.3 kilometre course which took riders around the village of Plymouth.
In Division Two, Trinidad and Tobago's Roger Smart crossed the line in pole position. He was followed home by Stuart Maloney of Barbados, Nicholas Lopez from T&T and another Barbadian Ross Callendar in that order. Mark London won the Division Three open category with Sheldon Cockburn coming in second and Hayden Scott placing third.
Division Three had three other categories—Junior Ladies, Tinymites and Unregistered Ladies.
Kianna Lester won the Junior Ladies while Tyler Cole was first among the Tinymites. Avionne Cowie was first to finish in the Unregistered Ladies category, with Afiya Figaro and Kerliann Wellington coming in second and third respectively.
