Minister congratulates ‘dedicated’ Alexander

Sport Minister Anil Roberts extended congratulations to triple jumper, Ayanna Alexander on her third place and bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland yesterday.

“I am so proud of Ayanna,” Minister Roberts said via press release yesterday. “She is a consistent performer, dedicated to her training and her craft and it has certainly paid off. Not only is this T&T’s first medal of the Games, but she literally leapt her way into our history books with this Games’ first and, for Trinidad and Tobago, admittedly rare field medal.  She has always been a proud national and gracious sportswoman, and her accomplishments are befitting of her efforts. She has made us all proud and I am sure Trinidad and Tobago thanks her for her hard work and congratulates her on her victory”.

The release said the Ministry of Sport rand the Sports Company joined the Minister in his congratulations of Alexander, her coaches and technical team and wished them and the entire Commonwealth Games contingent the best of luck for the duration of the event.
