West Indies bowling star Sunil Narine was powerless to stop his Sydney Sixers from a 21-run defeat at the hands of Melbourne Stars in the Australian Big Bash yesterday.
The right-arm off-spinner went wicket-less in four overs which cost 31 runs as the Stars tallied 177 for six from 20 overs, after being sent in at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Exciting young batsman Glenn Maxwell top-scored with 82 while former Australia batsman Brad Hodge hit 51.
In reply, Sydney fell short with 156 for five, with opener Steve O'Keefe getting 39.
The loss was their second straight with Narine in the line up.
