Afeisha Noel was red hot on Tuesday as she led Fire Service past Police 49-27 in the Courts All Sectors Netball League Premiership Division at the indoor court at Eastern Regional Sporting Complex, Tacarigua.
The lanky goal shoot sank 33 of her 39 attempts and ensured there was no way back for the Police women. She was also assisted by goal attack Simone Morgan, who had 16-of-29 shooting.
Fire raced out to a 13-6 first quarter lead, which they never relinquished, stretching it to 23-14 at the halfway mark.
Goal shoot Joelisa Cooper was the main force for Police on the offensive end, sinking 23 of 31 attempts. But she did not get the assistance needed to make the encounter a competition one, as goal attack Shivaughn Skeete could only score twice from five attempts.
Cooper was replaced late by Jenice McIntosh, who scored two of four after Fire had already led 38-18 through three quarters.
Police fared much better in the Championship Division, stopping San Juan Jabloteh 44-27.
Goal shoot Patrice Goring was brilliant from under the net in the second half with 29-of-32 shooting to put paid to a Jabloteh challenge when Police were just two goals ahead after two quarters.
They were given that lead through Beverly Hernandez in the first half, who netted 14 of 32, while goal attack Lystra Solomon’s lone goal came in three attempts.Jabloteh had their best shooting from goal shoot Latoya Thomas (13-of-19).
