ToolsOpen Water Classic SundayThe Amateur Swimming Association of Trinidad and Tobago (ASATT) will host the Maracas Open Water Swim Classic on Sunday at Maracas Bay, at 9 a.m. There are two categories – juniors and seniors. Juniors are considered to be swimmers 12 and under and the distance to be swam is 750 metres. Seniors, those 13 and over, can swim either in the 2,650 metres event or the 5000 metres race. Jonathan Gillette and Theana Hay are the senior male and female senior winners from last year. The entrance fee for juniors is $100 per participant, whereas the fee for seniors is $150 and US $25 for foreign participants. All participants will receive a competition swim cap and a commemorative t-shirt. Entries close at 4.30 p.m. on September 16, 2012. According to ASATT, group or club entries should be made by today. Foreign/International swimmers will have a deadline of Wednesday September 19.
