Pacer Gabriel resumes training

West Indies pacer Shannon Gabriel has resumed training with the Trinidad and Tobago Twenty20 squad and, once he is fit, he could find a place in the national team that will travel to South Africa in October for the Champions League T20.

According to team manager Omar Khan, Gabriel, who was sidelined with a stress reaction in the lower spine during the West Indies tour of England in May, has resumed doing light training with the T&T squad and will be in the team's training session at the National Cricket Centre, Balmain, Couva today.

Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board chairman of selectors Dudnath Ramkessoon said the right-arm pacer, who made his Windies debut against England at Lord's in May, picking up three for 60 in the first innings and one for 26 in the second, will be in consideration for the Champions League if he is fit.
