Parkites in Sunday League semis

Trinidad and Tobago batsmen, Justin Guillen and Adrian Barath scored half centuries yesterday to help their club, Queen's Park Cricket Club to a nine wicket win over Alescon Comets in their Premier Division Sunday League match at St Mary's Ground, St Clair.

The Parkites, who are the defending champions, dismissed Comets for 145 with Shannon Gabriel taking four wickets.

Queen's Park raced to 148 for one to clinch a place in the Sunday League semifinals against Merry Boys.

Merry Boys sealed their spot after defeating Moosai Sports in their quarterfinal at Diego Martin Recreation Ground.

Merry Boys dismissed Moosai for 102 with left-arm orthodox spinner Javed Ramdhanie, right-arm medium pacer Rayad Emrit and left-arm wrist spinner Emile Rajah taking three

wickets each.

Mario Belcon scored 64 not out to steer the hosts to 104 for one.

The other semifinal will see last year's runners up PowerGen taking on Seenath's Auto Bamboo Sports.

Bamboo upset Clarke Road by six wickets thanks to Richard Ali's 74 off 45 balls, while PowerGen defeated Esmeralda by 10 wickets on the Duckworth/Lewis method.
