Perkins stars with ball for Chargers in EPL T20

By Roger Seepersad

William Perkins is usually noted for his exploits with the bat, but on Monday night he proved that he was more than capable with the ball.

Perkins snatched four wickets for 13 runs to help home team CSW Chargers to a 94-run win over Guaracara Sports in their second round Coca Cola Endeavour Premier League Twenty20 match at Avidesh Samaroo Park, Endeavour Chaguanas.

Chargers batted first and made 167 for three, with Rajendra Mangalie top-scoring with 48 and David Dick and Jonathan Augustus chipping in with 46 and 40 respectively.

Perkins was out for a first ball duck, but returned with the ball to help dismiss Guaracara for 73 in 17.2 overs.

In Monday's early match, PowerGen Partners defeated Malvern by seven wickets.

Malverns were dismissed for 89 in 17 overs with Daron Beekah, Rienzo Trotman and Shiva Durbal grabbing three wickets each. Opener Zackurrie Raghoonath then slammed two sixes in his top-score of 44 not out to bring home the win.

The winning runs were scored by Al Pascal, who slammed three sixes in his unbeaten 25.
