Permaul to lead President's XI

Veerasammy Permaul has been named skipper of a West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) President's XI to face New Zealand in a three-day, tour match starting this coming Friday at the Vivian Richards Cricket Ground.

The Guyanese left-arm spinner who has also been leading the West Indies "A" team side, will lead a team that largely includes Test players Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Adrian Barath, Kirk Edwards, Kieran Powell, Narsingh Deonarine, Kemar Roach, Shane Shillingford and Assad Fudadin who made his Test debut on the recent tour of England.

The WICB media release yesterday noted however, that middle-order batsman Darren Bravo has still not fully recovered from the groin injury that sidelined him on the England tour.
