Petro Jazz maintained their perfect record in the Mackeson Super 10 Basketball League with a 95-85 win over Maloney Pacers in their Menís Division game, at the Maloney Indoor Sports Complex on Friday night.
Point guard Adrian Joseph scored 24 points while Ako Pascal netted 20 as Petro Jazz controlled the game up to half time with a 59-36 lead.
The Pacers managed to outscore Jazz 49-36 in the second half with Kyeon Joseph scoring a game-high 30 points and Gimel Lewis chipping in with 20, but it was not enough in the end.
Elsewhere, University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) defeated Mackeson Monarchs 80-66.
Kerry Celestine scored 20 points for UTT while centre Nicholas Medina contributed 19 and forward Patrick Scipio added 14. For the Monarchs, who lost their seventh straight game, forward Asfa Grant netted 19.
The tournament continued yesterday with a triple-header at the Jean Pierre Complex, Port of Spain.
