Police X close the gap in All Sectors League

Police X won the battle of the servicewomen against Police Y to close the gap on Championship Division leaders Fire when second round action continued in the Courts All Sectors Netball League on Monday at the Eastern Regional Indoor Complex in Tacarigua.
Police X beat their counterparts 57-36 to move to eight points from five matches, two behind unbeaten Fire who have also played five.
On Monday, goal shoot Patrice Gooding was nearly flawless at the ring, sinking 52 of her 55 attempts. Only five attempts were made by Police X otherwise, all by goal attack Euphemia Huggins who made them all. Gooding by herself outscored Police Y for whom goal shoot Giselle Norton Richards made 19 of her 36 attempts. Goal attack Giselle Navarro was more accurate, converting 17 of her 25.
In the Retro Division, Les Enfants beat Les Femmes 28-21 with goal shoot Jill Fernando hitting with 21 of her 28 attempts for the winners. Goal attack Sherry Thomas led the fight for Les Femmes with 18 of 21. Les Enfants led 7-4 after the first quarter and maintained their lead throughout.
In the other Retro game on Monday, TSTT outclassed Harlem 28-4 with goal attack Debra Alie hitting 22 of her 32 attempts.
Two matches in the Alternative Division are scheduled for tomorrow, with Police playing TSTT from 5.30 p.m. and USC playing UTT from 6.45 p.m. in Tacarigua.
