Presentation College San Fernando will face Scarborough Secondary in today's BG T&T/First Citizens Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) "Big Five" semi-final at Dwight Yorke Stadium, Tobago from 4 p.m.
That match will be played after Signal Hill Secondary and St Francois Girls College meet in the BG T&T Girls InterCol semi-final from 2 p.m.
"Pres" will again put their perfect record on the line today, and their coach Shawn Cooper is quietly confident they can overcome the Tobago champions, who he believes will put up a good fight on home soil.
On Monday Presentation edged Arima North Secondary 1-0 in their hard-fought Big Five quarter-final at Larry Gomes Stadium in Malabar to earn the chance to face the Tobago Zone champions.
According to Cooper, the team have pulled together since losing four key players, and are determined to play hard right to the end.
"We are going as far as our bodies could take us and we are pushing ourselves," Cooper told the Express yesterday.
"Our squad is a small one, and it is taxing on the younger players. We have already lost four star players, but the more the squad depletes, the greater the fight...we are going out there full of confidence," said the Presentation coach.
Though they have not seen their opponents before, Cooper expects a challenge.
"Playing at home, they should give us some stiff competition but we are quietly confident," Cooper added.
Scarborough were knocked out of the Big Five last year by Carapichaima East Secondary at the quarter-final stage, and will be hoping to go all the way to the final this time around.
