CLICO Preysal continue their hunt for the Championship Division 40 over crown today when they face Jenexcon Tableland Sports in the Round of 12 phase of the competition at Inshan Ali, Park, Preysal today from 11 a.m.
Preysal, a former Premier Division club, have lost some of their senior players since being demoted to the Championship Division at the end of the 2012 season, but they still boast a quality line-up which will be led by all-rounder Videsh Sookhai.
Carapichaima East Secondary left-arm spinner Justin Joseph is also in the Preysal line-up along with Presentation College Chaguanas players Bryan Charles and Kamil Pooran and new wicketkeeper Keeon Celestine.
Their opponents also have a strong squad, with former Trinidad and Tobago batsman Lincoln Roberts leading the side for today's knockout match.
Tableland also have the services of Kenton Thompson and Brent Harriot who also have Premier Division experience.
Roberts, who is also a former Queen's Park Cricket Club player, and Thompson have both scored centuries for Tableland in the competition so far, while Harriot, a former PowerGen pacer, has also done well, taking a five wicket-haul to get his club to this stage of the tournament.
Left-arm pacer Daniel St Clair, who is a graduate of the TTCB Academy and his brother Elijah are also in the squad along with left-arm spinner Rienzo Trotman.
In other Round of 12 matches today, QPCC II take on Rousillac United in Rousillac, while Calcutta Sports take on Yorkshire at Calcutta.
Today's four winners and the two losers with the best net run rate in the Round of 12 will move on to the 40-over quarterfinals tomorrow.
