Providence, Fatima win in schools league

 Providence and Fatima College were the winners on the opening day of the Trinidad and Tobago Hockey Board (TTHB) Secondary Schools Hockey League, at the St James Barracks Grounds, on Wednesday.

For Providence, national women’s player Dana De Gannes netted a double while teammate Shaniah De Freitas added another in their 3-0 shut out of St Joseph’s Convent, Port of Spain.

On the boys side, Teague Marcano also scored a double while Jordan Weekes put in one as Fatima earned a 3-1 victory over St Mary’s College.

Craig Cockburn scored the consolation goal for the losers.
