Ramkissoon sparkles in ‘Sagicor’

ADAM RAMKISSOON was in tremendous form when the Sagicor Junior Tennis Tournament concluded yesterday at Eddie Taylor Public Courts, King George V Park, St Clair. After allowing Nathan Valdez just two games in the semi-finals, last year’s national under-10 champ was even more impressive in the final later in the day as he overwhelmed Ethan Jerry 4-0, 4-0.

Yesterday’s other two singles finals were also one-sided affairs. After upsetting national age-group champ Kyle Kerry to capture the under-10 title in the recent Lease Operators Limited Junior Tournament, Charles Devaux did it again when the prevailed 4-1, 4-0.

And “Lease” under`14 champ Che Andrews cruised to his age-group title with a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Jaydon Alexis. The first final was contested on Wednesday when Cheyenne Chin Chow was the most convincing of the three (final) winners with her 6-1, 6-2 triumph over Carissa Rudolfo for the under-16 crown.

“Lease” runner-up Yin Lee Assang defeated Kristen Marticorena of Guatemala 4-1, 5-3 in the under-12 final and national under-16 and 18 champ Nabeel Mohammed was a 6-2, 6-2 winner over Keshan Moonasar for the under-18 crown.

National under-16 and 18 champ Emma Rose Trestrail, Ryan Thomas and Osenyonye Nwokolo had been crowned on Thursday. Thursday’s singles finals: Under-18 – E. Trestrail bt Celine Ramsumair 4-6, 6-1, 10/2. U-16 – R. Thomas bt Clint Singh 6-1, 6-3. U-14 – O. Nwokolo bt Briana Lawrence 4-6, 6-4, 10/7.
