Scarborough Cup tees off tomorrowThe eighth annual three-day Scarborough Cup golf tournament tees off tomorrow with top golfers Monty Chapman, Dave Rajkumar, Wayne Baptiste, Michael Commissiong and Carlos "Sexy" Baynes among the 44 teams competing in Tobago. Defending champions Chris McMillan and William Shaw will also be in action in the tournament, which will be played at both Tobago Plantations Golf Course and Mount Irvine Golf Course and is supported by the Department of Tourism of the Tobago House of Assembly, the Tourism Development Company and the Barbados Tourism Authority. The top three teams will qualify for the annual Sir Garry Sobers Golf Classic, to be played in April in Barbados, where they will compete with 280 golfers from all around the world, including a large contingent from Trinidad and Tobago. The format of the 54-hole Scarborough Cup, which is organised and hosted by Caribbean Swing Promotions, will be two-ball better ball, with four "bobby holes", where both players' scores will count towards the team total. |
