Shillingford shines as Dominica limit Grenada
Out-of-favour West Indies off-spinner Shane Shillingford bagged a four-wicket haul to help Dominica limit Grenada, on the opening day of their first round match in the Windward Islands Championship, on Friday.
The right-armer, overlooked for the ongoing tour of Bangladesh, finished with four for 51 as Grenada, sent in at Windsor Park, were dismissed for 161. Captain Liam Sebastien picked up four for 51 with his steady off-spin.
Discarded West Indies opener Devon Smith top-scored with 41, while Keon George got 33 and Lindon Lawrence, 31.
In reply, Dominica finished the day on 13 for two.
The match started just after midday because of the late arrival of Grenada's gear from St George's.
At Benjamin's Park in Portsmouth, St Lucia closed on 32 for one from 32 overs in a rain-affected match-up against St Vincent and the Grenadines. West Indies opener Johnson Charles was unbeaten on 11, and was partnered by experienced batsman Keddy Lesporis, on 14.
