Sir Garfield Sobers will take on Desmond Haynes on the golf course in the semi-finals of the Brian Lara Golf Challenge, at the St Andrew’s Golf Club in Moka, today.
Haynes defeated Mark Bright on the first day of the Golf Challenge, yesterday, to qualify for the semis, while Sobers had a bye in the first round.
Today’s other semi-final will see former West Indies batting star Brian Lara taking on former Trinidad and Tobago footballer Dwight Yorke.
Lara beat Gordon Greenidge to reach the semis, while Yorke defeated John Morris.
The semis will be contested from 9.30 a.m., and the final starts at 12 noon.
Former Masters Champion Ian Woosnam will also be in action today, teeing off against Chris Richards at 12.20 p.m.
The Golf Challenge continues at Millennium Lakes in Trincity tomorrow where 50 teams of two golfers each will compete using the two-ball better-ball format.
