Soca Warriors hammer Anguilla 10-0

Coach Hutson Charles ended his first competitive assignment in charge of the Trinidad and Tobago senior men's football team on a high when the Soca Warriors hammered Anguilla 10-0, late yesterday, at Warner Park, in St Kitts.

The win marked the biggest margin of victory for T&T since beating Aruba 11-0 in 1989 during the time of the legendary Strike Squad. The Soca Warriors finished unbeaten in Group 5 of Caribbean Cup qualifying after defeating French Guiana 4-1 on the opening day, hosts St Kitts-Nevis 1-0 on Friday, and Anguilla 10-0 yesterday.

Already assured of topping the group, the Soca Warriors did not ease the pressure against bottom team Anguilla, and led 7-0 at the half on a surface that was affected by heavy rain.

Striker Jamal Gay scored four goals for T&T, while Vietnam-based Willis Plaza netted twice.
