Sookdeosingh hits double for PowerGen
Hard-hitting opening batsman Nicholas Sookdeosingh slammed a double century, while out-of-favour Trinidad and Tobago all-rounder Sherwin Ganga hit an even hundred as their club PowerGen Penal dominated F&E Diamond United on the opening day of their Premier Division two-day encounter at Syne Village, Penal yesterday.
Sookdeosingh faced 230 balls and hit 20 fours and five sixes in his top-score of 210, while Ganga hit seven fours and two sixes in his 113-ball century as PowerGen declared their first innings at 352 for three.
Left-arm orthodox spinner Jovan Ali and left-arm chinaman bowler Dave Mohammed then grabbed three wickets each for PowerGen as Diamond closed the day on 84 for nine.
Elsewhere, Seenath's Auto Bamboo Sports, led by a top-score of 97 from Deepak Kumar, won first innings points over defending champions Queen's Park Cricket Club.
Kumar fell three short of a century as Bamboo made 177 all out in replay to the Parkites' first innings of 150 all out.
