St Louis clinic in Tacarigua
DEXTER St Louis will conduct a marathon table tennis clinic today at Eastern Regional Indoor Sports Arena, Tacarigua.
The session will take place from noon until 4 p.m. and is primarily for players who represented the country in the Caribbean Cadet (under-15 and 18) Championships in Trinidad a few months ago, as well as those who participated in the recently-concluded Caribbean Pre-Cadet (under-11 and 13) Championships in Guyana.
Other players ranked in the top 12 in any category in juniors are also invited to attend the clinic.
The France-based St Louis is this country’s most successful player and he was ranked #342 in the world at the start of the year. The 45-year-old southpaw has been crowned Caribbean champion on four occasions, and qualified for the Olympic Games twice—in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, in 1996 and Beijing, China, in 2008.
St Louis, who has been competing for three decades, will share knowledge about his training techniques, as well as preparation for tournaments, both physical and mental, and will also engage in a question-and-answer segment during the clinic
