St Kitts, Antigua to host Guyana matches

ST JOHN'S

Warner Park in St Kitts and the Vivian Richards Cricket Ground in Antigua will host Guyana's third and fourth round matches in the Regional Four-Day Championship, as the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) continues to ignore the government-owned National Stadium at Providence.

The announcement came Friday, the same day the Board said it was pulling the third Test of Australia's tour of the Caribbean from the venue in April.

Both actions were taken against the backdrop of the Guyana government's takeover of cricket administration in the country through an Interim Management Committee.

The WICB and cricket's world governing body, the International Cricket Council (ICC), have already condemned the move and reiterated their support for the Guyana Cricket Board.

In the third round, Guyana will take on Combined Campuses and Colleges at Warner Park from February 16-19 and will face title-holders Jamaica in the fourth round from February 24-27.
