Stampfli seeded to win two ITF Junior titles
BREANA STAMPFLI is the top seed in singles and doubles in an ITF (International Tennis Federation) Junior Tournament for the very first time.
The Trinidad and Tobago player is competing in the Copa Maya Junior Tournament this week in El Salvador and, after a bye in the first round, she sailed into the under-18 quarterfinals with a 6-2, 6-0 triumph over Paola Carpio of El Salvador on Tuesday.
Stampfli was yesterday scheduled to oppose Cristina Rovira, the American she defeated in straight sets for her very first ITF singles crown last Saturday in El Salvador.
That Grade V tournament was on hard courts, but this one is being contested on clay.
Stampfli and Miranda Ramirez of the United States are seeded to win the doubles title and, after receiving a first-round bye, they were scheduled to play in the quarters yesterday.
