Trinidad and Tobago’s national swimmers left yesterday morning for Barbados, where they will compete at the Caribbean Island Swimming Championships (CISC) which begins today. On Tuesday, the national swim team was adversily affected by a Caribbean Airlines (CAL) pilots strike, which resulted in their flight being cancelled.
CAL flights resumed yesterday, but team manager Gary Morales disclosed that the 38-member team was only able to depart after making alternative arrangements. “They were able to leave through a LIAT flight,” Morales said. “But we had to go in two batches. There was some hiccups, but it worked out.”
