T&T’s Bourne to fight for kickboxing title
Draak Fight Promotions will be hosting their inaugural International K1 and Muay Thai Gala in Trinidad on September 21 at the Jean Pierre Complex, Port of Spain.
The gala will be showcasing upcoming talented amateur athletes from Trinidad and Tobago, St Maarten, Suriname and Martinique. The main event includes T&T’s Keron Bourne versus St Maarten’s Junior Phillip for the World Kickboxing Network (WKN) Caribbean Amateur Title.
Other anticipated bouts include prominent athlete Teron Diaz competing against Rowe Bijlhout of Suriname.
The newly founded organisation’s main purpose is geared towards the development of the sport and the athletes in Trinidad and Tobago who have been deprived of adequate opportunities to prove themselves internationally.
Draak Fight Promotions is receiving support from neighbouring Caribbean countries and some further abroad, including the United States, Brazil, UK and Thailand, all of whom have expressed their interest in not only participating in their events but in also contributing to the development of local athletes through seminars, training camps and more. There will also be support for coach certification.
