T&TEC go back on top

T&TEC needed a second half goal from striker Andre Toussaint to edge back into the Digicel Pro League lead, after a 1-1 draw with defending champions Defence Force on Friday.

In a rescheduled Round Two, Match Day One clash at Ato Boldon Stadium in Balmain, Toussaint struck in the 70th minute to level proceedings.

Before that, Army led for 50 minutes after Dexter Thornhill scored in the 20th.

The point puts T&TEC level with Caledonia AIA on 19 points, but first with a five-goal advantage over the Morvant "Stallions".

The "Electricity Boys" have also played two matches less than Caledonia and one more than Adams Construction San Juan Jabloteh (third, 18 points) and W Connection (fourth, 18).

Defence Force also did some jumping up the table, moving from seventh to fifth due to a superior goal difference over DirecTV North East Stars, now sixth, and St Ann's Rangers (seventh).

Tuesday is the next Pro League match day, with a full slate of games at both the Larry Gomes Stadium in Malabar and Ato Boldon Stadium.
