ToolsT&T U-15s take 1st inns from LeewardsThe Trinidad and Tobago Under-15 cricketers had to settle for a draw in their opening match of the Regional Under-15 Championships against the Leeward Islands at Edgar Gilbert Complex in Molineux in St Kitts yesterday. T&T had a strong first innings performance on the first day Wednesday, reaching 144 for eight off their 37 overs, with Keagan Simmons top-scoring with 65. They then restricted the Leewards to 90 for eight with Man-of-the-Match Bryan Boodram taking five for 16. T&T were dismissed for 142 in their second turn at the crease yesterday, with Simmons again top-scoring with. He made 30. The Leewards, needing 197 to win, reached 160 for eight off 62 overs as the match ended in a draw. In the other first round matches, Barbados defeated defending champions Jamaica by nine wickets at Warner Park while the WIndward Islands defeated Guyana by two wickets at Conaree.
