T&T golfers tee off today in Americas Cup

Trinidad and Tobago have sent a strong team to the Copa de las Americas (Americas Cup) golf tournament, which tees off today at Doral Golf Resort & Spa on Miami's TPC Blue Monster Course from 8.50 a.m. (TT time).

Monifa Sealy is making her third trip to the tournament with Kelsey Lou Hing as her ladies teammate, while Talin Rajendranath and Matthew Marquez team up for the boys' competition.

University of Central Florida student Sealy, T&T's top female golfer in recent years, was named to the 2012 All-Conference USA third team. She was twice the T&T Golf Association's female golfer of the year in 2009 and 2010.

Lou Hing was runner-up in ladies play at the 2012 Caribbean Amateur Championships.

Rajendranath and Marquez are both T&T senior players, and the latter, who won the 2012 Caribbean Amateur Junior Golf Championship, showed great form last year.
