Trinidad and Tobago's West Indies women cricketers left Trinidad yesterday afternoon for Barbados, where they will join the Windies camp before heading on their England tour.
West Indies skipper/wicket-keeper Merissa Aguilleira, off-spinner Anisa Mohammed, and all-rounders Deandra Dottin, Britney Cooper and Stacy-Ann King all headed to Barbados, from where the team will travel to England today.
The team will face England in a five-match T20 series, from September 8-16 at Durham, Old Trafford, Northampton, Hove and Sussex.
The matches will serve as warm-ups ahead of the ICC World T20 Tournament, which bowls off at Galle in Sri Lanka from September26.
Also among the West Indies unit are world number one all-rounder Stafanie Taylor, the first woman to be shortlisted among the top five ICC Cricketers of the Year, and other recent West Indies Ccricket Board Regional T20 tournament standouts.
These include Taylor's Jamaican teammate Shanel Daley, Barbados pacer Shakera Selman and veteran Vincentian player Juliana Nero.
West Indies will face New Zealand, hosts Sri Lanka and South Africa in a tough group for a place in the World T20 semi-finals.
