Table tennis men win classification final

France-based table tennis pro Dexter St Louis combined with Curtis Humphreys and Aaron Wilson for a 3-0 triumph over Ghana in the Commonwealth Games men’s team classification final, at Scotstoun Campus, here in Glasgow, Scotland, yesterday.

Yuvraaj Dookram was the fourth member of the T&T men’s team.

The victory over Ghana secured 15th spot for T&T in the 28-team competition.

In the women’s team event, T&T progressed to the main draw, and finished joint-ninth in a field of 22. France-based Rheann Chung led the charge for T&T, and was supported by Aleena Edwards, Catherine Spicer and Ashley Quashie.

Prior to the Commonwealth Games, six members of the T&T team competed at the Pan American Sport Festival in Mexico, where Chung bagged bronze in the women’s singles.

Following yesterday’s men’s team success against Ghana, T&T coach Reeza Burke spoke to the Trinidad Express.
