Tunapuna Presbyterian best Bon Accord

...as rain hampers action in national primary schools league

Rain dampened action in Trinidad and affected three games in the second round of the 2014 Atlantic National Primary Schools Cricket League Tuesday. But in Tobago it was a nail-biting finish for Tunapuna Presbyterian, who completed a close three-wicket win over hosts Bon Accord.
Under bright skies in Tobago, Bon Accord took first strike with 110 for eight in 25 overs. In reply, Tunapuna lost wickets in regular succession but in the end Levi Mohammed and Darrel Watson stabilized the ship and the duo ensured their team’s victory, both unbeaten for 12 and 15 respectively.
In other North Zone news, the battle between Sangre Grande and Eastern Boys was rained out after three overs.
Meanwhile, in the South Zone, Montrose Government maintained their good form in their Group A game against Point Fortin ASJA at Inshan Ali Park in Preysal.
With rain reducing the game to ten overs per side, Montrose scored 72 for three with Aaron Bankay knocking 20. Bankay then bowled 2 wickets for seven runs and Point Fortin ASJA were restricted to 50 for two in their 10 overs. Montrose won the game with a 22 run lead.
Down at Evergreen, San Francique Presbyterian scored a decisive eight-wicket win over Orange Valley. Orange Valley was 61 all out as Soogrim Seepersad knocked out four wickets for 10 runs. San Francique won with 63 for two in 12 overs.
