U-19s go under to Guyana in regional tournament
Guyana defeated Trinidad and Tobago by five wickets in their third round West Indies Cricket Board Regional Under-19 50 over tournament at Bourda in Guyana yesterday to keep their place at the top of the standings.
Batting first, T&T were restricted to 163 for nine in the rain-affected match with Camillo Carimbocas slamming 66 and skipper Jeremy Solozano chipping in with 34.
Pacer Akeel Seetal then grabbed two wickets for 32 runs and Justin Joseph took two for 20 but that could not prevent the home team from reaching 164 for five in reply to take the win. Keemo Paul score 74 to set up the win for the Guyanese while Tagenarine Chanderpaul chipped in with 41.
In other results yesterday, Jamaica beat the ICC Americas team by seven wickets while the other match between the Leeward Islands and the Windward Islands was abandoned without a ball bowled. T&T face Jamaica in their next match tomorrow.
