Under-17s ready to defend title

Trinidad and Tobago are the reigning regional cricket Under-17 champions and will field another strong team in this year’s competition which is set to bowl off in Tobago next week.

This year, left-arm spinner Bryan Boodram, who was part of last year’s winning squad, will be in charge of the team and will have some talented players to call on.

Pacer Jarlarnie Seales and Tobago middle-order batsman Dejourn Charles also retrurn to the Under-17 line-up to add some experience while Kirstan Kallicharan, Sachin Seecharan, Keagan Simmons, Emilo Gopaul and Nathaniel McDavid will all make the step up from the Under-15 level.

Tarrandath Sammy is the new coach of the Under-17 team while Stephen Martel returns as team manager.
