Leading run-scorer in the recently concluded BG T&T Under-19 InterZone tournament Jeremy Solozano heads a list of 26 players who will be vying for a place on the Trinidad and Tobago Under-19 side for this year’s regional Under-19 championships.
The players will be involved in a two-day trial match starting today at 10 a.m. at Gilbert Park in California.
Solozano will captain one team which also includes fast bowlers Clevon Khelawan and Akeel Seetal as well as leg-spinner Jesse Bootan, while Keron Kanhai will skipper the other team which includes the BG T&T tournament’s top bowler, left-arm orthodox spinner Tevon Jadoo, as well as fast bowler Shane Smith and last year’s regional Under-17 MVP, top order batsman Amir Jangoo.
Dasrath Maharaj, who was the coach of the Under-17 team last year, will coach the national Under-19 team this year with John Lewis as the team’s manager.
