WASA clinch Super League title

WASA FC drew 2-2 with FC Santa Rosa on the final day of the season to secure their first blink/bmobile National Super League title for five years, Sunday.

Shervin Charles scored with less than 15 minutes remaining in the encounter, to assure the "Water Boys" victory in the 12-team second tier football competition.

Also earning a 2-2 draw were Joe Public who needed the full three points to go level with WASA.

Joe Public ended the campaign with a goal differential eight goals better than WASA, which meant a win would have handed the league's most dominant club, their fifth NSL title.

Westside Superstarz suffered yet another miserable loss, 4–0 away to Real Maracas and finished third.

In the end, WASA were the ones who celebrated a come-from-behind victory. Eon Alleyne opened the scoring in the seventh minute for Santa Rosa, before WASA's Dillon Peterson equalised in the 33rd minute.

Twelve minutes into the second period, Santa Rosa again went ahead when Osei Sandy netted. But Shervin Charles scored again in the 77th minute for the draw..

WASA, the 2006 T&T Cup FA Trophy champions, had finished as runners-up and in third place in the past two seasons.
