Wayne Lewis Memorial football match today

Belmont Intermediate veterans will honour one of their former football stars with the Wayne Lewis Memorial football match against St Mary's College today from 4.15 p.m.

The match will take place at St Mary's Ground on Serpentine Road, St Clair, in tribute to the ex-schoolboy striker who led Belmont to their first National League title in 1969. That year, they also reached the InterCol final before losing the San Fernando Technical Institute.

Lewis passed away earlier this month in the US after battling a long illness.
