Teenagers Aaron Wilson and Brittany Joseph will bid for Solo National Table Tennis Championship senior singles titles at the Central Regional Indoor Sports Arena (CRISA), in Chaguanas today.
Thirteen-year-old Wilson takes on Anthony "Sandfly" Brown in the quarter-final round of the men's singles event. And in the women's singles, Joseph, 14, squares off against nine-time champion Aleena Edwards in the semis.
Both teens would be confident of advancing, following victories over their respective opponents in the team competition two weekends ago.
In the men's first division group two clash between Solo Crusaders and Carenage Blasters, Crusaders won 3-2, Wilson beating Brown for one of the two Blasters' wins.
And in the women's team final, Joseph got the better of Edwards to help Arima Hawks to a 3-0 victory over University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT).
In the other men's singles quarter-final fixtures at CRISA today, US-based players Dayanand Maharaj and Yuvraj Dookram square off against each other, Everton Sorzano takes on Kenwin Small, and top-ranked Curtis Humphreys tackles Terrence Corbin.
The other women's singles semi-final features Linda Partap-Boodhan and Ashley Quashie.
The men's, women's and veterans' (over-45) singles titles will be decided today. Ferdinand Castillo faces defending champion Faiz Mohammed for the veterans' crown.
First serve at CRISA is at
5.30 p.m.
