‘X-Men’ take on Abel Construction in T20 final


The Barrackpore Sports Association Twenty20 tournament final bowls off at 6 p.m. today at Carat Hill Ground, Barrackpore with X-Men Sports Club up against Abel Construction for the $10,000 first prize.



X-Men defeated All Apaches Sports Club by four wickets in their semi-final at the same venue on Wednesday night, while Abel Construction booked their place in the final via a 16-run win over STX Sports at the same venue on Tuesday.



In that match, Syed Mohammed hit an unbeaten 59 to lead Abel Construction to 153 for four off their 20 overs. STX were restricted to 137 for eight, with Varma Ramkissoon grabbing four for 21.



In the other semi, Zackory Ragoonath hit 57 to lead X-Men to 116 for six in reply to All Apaches’ 115 for eight.



The final will be preceded by the third-place play-off between All Apaches and STX Sports from 3 p.m.



The third place team will pocket $3,000, while the fourth place team will get $2,000.



The second place team will go home with $5,000.
