"The West End Theatre Group is the ideal community-based vehicle to transport you into the magical world of theatre and film," stated local playwright Cordell Birkett.

He went on to state that at present, there are limited opportunities for young people in western Trinidad to become involved in the performing arts.

"This is something that I have noticed since returning home a couple years ago. I believe that this is the opportune time for a venture like this."

The organising committee is looking for amateur dancers, singers, actors and actresses.

Even if you have no prior experience, they group is prepared to provide the necessary training to get you ready to step on the stage.

They are also looking for backstage people: designers, lighting personnel and sound engineers.

"One has to remember that we are fostering the development and growth of community theatre that is common in the developed world, and a society like ours deserves to have a vibrant community theatre group," stated Birkett.

This group has been fortunate to be able to partner with Green Door Studios and Black Star Production, which has been pioneering online television production over the past four years.
