Winchester Launches 'Bikini'

Two-time National Road March champion, Shurwayne Winchester was recently in Tobago for the filming of the music video for his new single, "Bikini." Like "Wine On It," the track is another of Winchester's experiments blending hard core dancehall with soca and other genres, which is thus far working well for him.

Winchester chose Pigeon Point as the backdrop for the music video because of its still untouched natural beauty, which he believes should be seen by people the world over. He is hoping that the "Bikini" video will, like his other works, be seen globally via Facebook, YouTube and other online platforms as well as various global television networks, which are beginning to increase the share of soca music on their playlists.

Following Carnival 2012, Winchester has been moving around the region and the world at large with a number of performances including the prestigious Ipswich Summer Arts Festival in Britain where he delivered a sterling performance. At one point Winchester jumped off the stage into the audience with whom he formed a conga line moving through the open air venue with them as he sang.

Other engagements for the year thus far included the Caribbean Fashion Week in Jamaica along with other performances on the island as well as gigs in New York and St Lucia. Winchester has a number of foreign engagements that will keep Winchester busy all the way to year's end. He is also working on new music not only for C2K13, but outside of the Carnival season and aimed at the non-soca arena as well.
