IN the face of public pressure, Attorney General Faris Al-Rawi yesterday proposed a new time-frame of 45 days instead of 90 days for information to be provided under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).

He admitted that he had underestimated reactions but explained that this was because he was “too close” to the data—which he claimed showed that United National Congress lawyers had been “milking” the system through use of the FOIA.
