RIDDLED VEHICLE: A crime scene investigator searches for spent shells below the vehicle, which was transporting three children when it came under fire yesterday at Belmont Circular Road, Belmont.

THREE children, one of them a six-year-old boy, narrowly escaped serious injury yesterday afternoon when gunmen opened fire on the vehicle they were in at Belmont.

The children are a 15-year-old girl, her six-year-old brother, both of Las Cuevas, and a 12-year-old from St Michael’s Village, along the north coast.

It is the policy of the Express to not identify children who are victims of crime.

Also in the vehicle was an 18-year-old woman, Calisha Khan.
