Despite arriving in Cuba last week Saturday, no work has yet begun on the Galleon’s Passage.

The vessel was scheduled for a number of modifications to be done at the Damex Shipyard in Santiago de Cuba, including installation of toilets and other fittings.

However, National Infrastructure Development Company (NIDCO) said in a release on Friday that there has been a setback in commencing the work.

NIDCO said there has been a delay in the completion of designs and the consequential issue of approved drawings by the seller.

THE Venezuelan migrant registration process was completed in Port of Spain and San Fernando yesterday.
