ON March 19 the Embassy of the United States, in collaboration with the Institute of International Relations at The UWI, held a special guest lecture featuring Dr Evan Ellis entitled “Patterns, opportunities and challenges from Chinese investment in Latin America and the Caribbean.”

While emphasis was placed on the role of the China in T&T somehow, the topic of the ongoing crisis in Venezuela and our country’s handling of the issue from an international relations perspective made its way to the table during the lecture.
